Jay R Laver
Dr Jay R. Laver is a Principal Research Fellow at the University of Southampton, where he co-leads the Controlled Human Infection Group in the development and application of controlled human infection models to study bacterial colonisation, immunity and vaccine development. His research combines molecular microbiology, synthetic biology and experimental medicine, with a particular focus on Neisseria species and the development of genetically modified Neisseria lactamica as a platform for investigating mucosal immunity, identifying correlates of protection against bacterial colonisation of the upper respiratory tract, and informing the design of future meningococcal vaccines.
