Tiyasa Haldar
I am a PhD student (senior research fellow) at Symbiosis International (Deemed) University, working under the supervision of Prof. Sunil D. Saroj to investigate extracellular factors that govern the virulence of Neisseria meningitidis. My research characterizes how host extracellular cues modulate bacterial virulence and alter antimicrobial resistance, with a specific focus on the role of dynamic host metabolites in shaping the meningococcal stress response. By integrating molecular microbiology with metabolic profiling, I aim to elucidate the mechanisms by which host-derived chemical signals dictate pathogen fitness and infection outcomes, providing critical insights into the survival strategies of this significant human pathogen.
